A bit about Keystone…

A bit about Katie…

Katie Gordon is a rancher and nutrition consultant who works closely with cattle producers to develop practical, operation-specific nutrition and management strategies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan, with a focus on Animal Science and Agribusiness, and a Master of Science in Animal Science from the University of Saskatchewan. Her graduate research was completed under the guidance of Dr. John McKinnon (University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon) and Dr. Tim McAllister (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Lethbridge).

In her career, Katie has advised cow-calf, feedlot and small ruminant producers across the Prairies, helping to make feeding and management decisions that improve performance, control risk, and support long-term profitability. She takes the time to understand how each operation works, recognizing that no two ranches face the same challenges. Her consulting approach blends sound science with practical, cost-effective solutions that fit the realities of day-to-day ranch management.

In the fall of 2025, Katie founded Keystone Ranch Solutions, an independent consulting company focused on practical, profitable, producer-driven advice. She ranches with her husband, Robert, and step-daughter, Clara, west of Maple Creek, where they run a commercial cowherd. They also help out on her in-law’s ranch near the Cypress Hills and assist with Katie’s Mom’s purebred Paint & Quarter Horse breeding operation in Manitoba, where she grew up. Her diverse knowledge allows her to bring both professional expertise and firsthand experience in understanding the decisions producers face every day.
